The dating science in the media has not been portrayed that well most times, however I believe that Dr. Phil’s piece was pretty positive and fun.

Overall, I think the image is starting to change for the better

This one made me laugh out loud. Of course, the phrase “dating science” makes me laugh out loud, too. But you make a lot of good points.

Beyond which, it’s just ridiculous for people who know nothing or very little about something to judge it based on knee-jerk reactions. It says more about them than it does about the thing they are judging.

Anyhow, thanks for some good laughs. And keep up the “gags,” “methods,” “manipulative behaviors,” and “forcible lean-backs.”

Andre – you’re quite right. Most of the “real” women I talk to about this stuff really like it and are fascinated by it.

I’d have to say that most of the virulent critics of Lovesystems tend to be either frumpy women, hopeless judgmental AFC’s, or people who are otherwise highly sexually frustrated. Both types seem to congregate in the media.

N1 Tenmagnet. The good thing is that women like that one are a minority. Most women even agree than men need to learn how to be better, how to stand up for themselves and being the men embracing all their masculinity and power than comes with that. Just look at the Dr Phills episode where Nick and Don go, at the 2nd voting almost all women are in favour of men learning to be better with women! Articles like hers should either be ignored or ridiculized (Riddendo castigate mores – latin for By ridiculizing one changes the ways.)

A good question might be, is the stuff you are teaching any more manipulative than spending lots of money on a girl so she feels obliged to spend time with you, or driving a flashy car to show off your “success”? Personal ads are another good example – apparently men consistently lie (upwards) about their heights, while women lie (downwards) about their age. Perhaps we are all innately manipulative?
